A performance exhaust will help your engine expel the burnt gasses more easily. This improves the throttle response and makes the car more fun to drive.

If you haven't already done so then now is a good time to consider improving the induction side of the engine. The more clean air you can get into your engine the more oxygen is available to give you a better 'bang'. In some cases a replacement element in your standard airbox (K&N, Pipercross and ITG all produce a wide range of high flow filters) will do the job well. If you prefer more noise then an induction kit would be your best option.

Once you have a filter and exhaust sorted it's well worth considering a chip or a remap. This ensures optimal air/ fuel ratios which gives more power and often better economy. This is where it all starts getting a bit too complicated for me so you'd be best to contact Joe at Powertune-Scotland. He's very helpful and honest about what you can expect.
